They take great pride in their land and traditions and will stop at nothing to defend both

Presentation

The people of Albion are devout followers of the Old Ways, a religion that centres around the fæs, powerful beings that control the forces of nature. The Albionian people believe that the fæs are intermediaries between themselves and the natural world, and that they must make alliances with them to maintain balance and harmony in their lives.

This religion is deeply rooted in the culture and customs of Albion. The people have built many sacred sites throughout the land to honour the fæs, including stone circles, fairy mounds, and sacred groves. These sites are places where the people of Albion can come to make offerings to the fæs and seek their guidance and blessings.

The rulers of Albion have a special relationship with the fæs. According to legends, the first king of Albion, King Richard, Sire of Albion, made a pact with the fæs to ensure the prosperity and protection of his kingdom. Since then, the monarchs of Albion have continued to make alliances with the fæs to maintain their realm's stability and security.

The people of Albion deeply respect the fæs and are careful not to offend them. They believe that the fæs can be both benevolent and malevolent, and that treating them with the utmost respect and deference is essential. The fæs are known to be capricious and unpredictable, and they can be easily offended if they feel that their power or honour has been challenged.

The common folks use a variety of ways to show their reverence and respect for these powerful beings in their daily lives. Here are some examples:

  • OFFERINGS: The people of Albion make offerings to the fæs at sacred sites throughout the land, such as ancient standing stones or natural springs. These offerings can include food, flowers, or other meaningful items to the fæs.

  • BLESSINGS: The people of Albion might seek blessings from the fæs for various aspects of their lives, such as health, fertility, or success in their endeavours. They make prayers and perform rituals to ask for these blessings.

  • RESPECT FOR NATURE: Since the fæs are intermediaries between humans and nature, the people of Albion show their respect for nature by living in harmony with the land and its resources. They practise sustainable agriculture, forestry, and fishing, and avoid wasteful or destructive practices.

  • FOLKLORE AND STORYTELLING: The people of Albion keep the traditions and stories of the fæs alive through the generations by telling tales and singing songs about their adventures and power. This helps reinforce the fæs' importance in the culture and instils a sense of reverence and respect for these magical beings.

  • CELEBRATIONS AND FESTIVALS: The people of Albion celebrate the turning of the seasons and other significant events with festivals and rituals that honour the fæs. These celebrations include feasting, dancing, and other forms of merrymaking, as well as formal ceremonies to honour the power and wisdom of the fæs.

Rites and Beliefs

The clothing and apparel of Albionians are practical and durable, with simple tunics and trousers, or long skirts and blouses. People of all genders wear sturdy boots or shoes for walking on rough terrain and cloaks made of wool or fur to keep warm during the cold winter months.

The nobility wears ornate clothing made of fine fabrics such as silk and velvet, while knights wear chainmail or plate armour over their clothing, with a surcoat bearing their coat of arms. They also wear helmets and gauntlets for protection in battle.

Organization

  • Black Sea Company: For people who never stop defending freedom, there are very few of them on our side when it counts.

  • Cities of Sinai: All their gems and coins will never be able to provide them with the nobility their nation requires.

  • City of Septis: They have brought evil upon their city with their cursed practice.

  • Dai Shikai Teikoku: By concentrating on imposing their vision on others, they have lost sight of what’s essential.

  • Forest Folks:  Our traditions are the same and, yet, it is difficult to understand each other as they proudly bear the mark of shame.

  • Inheritors Empire: With the signing of The Pact, we can finally put our old quarrels aside, at least on the battlefield.

  • Kingdom of Thessaly: They're too busy gorging themselves on their wine and olives to see that our fates are linked. It will be their downfall.

  • Kouznets Union: Science and technology did not save them, why would it save us? Anyway, it was already over for them when they renounced their traditions.
